Over the weekend I attended a presentation with artist Susan Kapuscinski Gaylord for her collection of Spirit Books now on exhibit at the New England Quilt Museum in Lowell MA. Susan has designed and produced 100 Spirit Books over the past 33 years. What are Spirit Books? Here is something from her website “The Spirit Books bring together my love of the book and my response to the natural world that we see and to the invisible one that lies behind it”. She and I photographed these books over several sessions over the span of a year at her studio in Newburyport MA .
