Newburyport to Plum Island Color to BxW

It’s been a busy time and I wasn’t getting as much bike riding in this year. But today I was going to change that. The plan was an early morning trip but due to a full day shoot and a late night commitment yesterday 5:30AM turned into a 2PM trip to Newburyport. Not the best time to ride a bike on a day tourism was at its peak. Parking at a family members driveway I was greeted by the young neighbors selling lemonade and of course I had to have one for the road. Making my way through the downtown traffic I switched to the walking path with a great view of the Merrimack. There I came upon a guy Wing Foiling. A contraption that looks like an elevated surfboard hydrofoil and holding an inflated wing for some purpose of catching some air. I miss seeing the Pink House with nothing more than a sign now commemorating its location but the architectural delight on Water Street on the salt marsh may fill the gap for now. Plus I caught a quick view of a Great Egret in the marsh. I did some black and white views before crossing the river to Plum Island. Once at the beach I got my view of the big plum Adirondack chair but I have learned the best time is definitely early morning for me. The day was picture perfect and things are changing on my ride but it is still my favorite.

  1. Great to read about your riding day, Kevin. And loved the photo accompaniment. Thanks. And one more thank you for taking the cover photo on our In Tandem book — alongside recommending Tyler Park hill as the location. Win-win for us.
