I met with artist Richard Burke Jones at his studio in Newburyport MA for some portrait views and to document some of his work. We started in the archives of his basement as he displayed and showed me his work from his early days to the latest views of Newburyport and its environs. We finished the session with views in his studio as he stood amongst his tools and brushes. You can see more of his work at his website richardburkejones.com or his Facebook page at this link. Look for the article “Why Paint” by writer/editor Doug Sparks in the Spotlight on the Arts column in the July/August 2021 issue of Merrimack Valley Magazine.
