Susan Kapuscinski Gaylord has produce a new book of quotes called “Offerings” that I recently photographed with her. She put together 24 quotes from poets, artists, writers and other creatives ranging from centuries ago to present day. Then using her calligraphy skills lettering each on beautiful card stock with a glowing gold ink. I did a simple lighting setup by window light and a small flash as she held and tilted each card to catch the glow of the lettering. My favorite quote was “Remember No Matter Where You Go There You Are” taken from the 80’s cult classic movie The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai. Just before I went on vacation I got my copy in the mail. Even the envelope and lettering on it shows the attention to art and detail she has. I was proud to be a part of the process. Make sure to get to her book launch at the John Greenleaf Whittier Home and Museum in Amesbury MA on August 26 at 4PM. You can also order your copy and her other books at her website at this link.
