Baird Farm Maple Syrup

Before the wedding we had time to visit some sites around the area of Chitteden Vermont. Our first stop was at Baird Farm which features a maple sugar processing barn that at first seemed small and diminutive but walking through the door I was pleasantly surprised. We met with Jenna Baird at the 560-acre farm located in Chittenden, Vermont that has been in the Baird family for four generations. Bonnie and Robert Baird own and operate the farm today while their daughter Jenna and her partner Jacob run the maple syrup retail business. Jenna graciously gave us a behind the scenes tour of the family farm facilities with the latest in the production of maple syrup. Not only using new technology like reverse osmosis with traditional heat processing they employed miles of tubing with pumps that bring the maple sap to the plant.
