I had the honor of shooting the cover for the latest issue of Portraits Magazine, featuring Abbot Isaac Murphy, O.S.B., of St. Anselm College, for the Spring/Summer 2025 issue. Abbot Isaac was elected last year, and the campus celebrated with an Abbatial Blessing ceremony in September 2024. This past May, we did some portrait sessions around campus for the article. Check out the online issue of Portraits at this link to learn about the interesting history of his election. My favorite image, taken in the monastery garden during full bloom, was chosen for the cover. However, the day of the Abbatial Blessing, seeing him walk with his staff, a huge smile on his face, truly captured his essence. We talked about it later, and it was clear he felt a sense of relief, knowing the election and installation process was complete and it was time to relax.
